Reconditioning of aluminium pistonsAluminium pistons are reconditioned by using automatic welding of ring grooves.
After the final machining the strengthening of the ring grooves is made by means of anodisining: a thin layer of extremely hard aluminium oxide is forming.
If the piston has a steel or cast iron inset, this insert is chrome plated.
